It's a really cool place. Pretty reasonable pricing and decent amenities. We usually play racquetball and some weights. It's also clean which we really like.
This is a great rec center, with lots to do. Weights, gymnasium, pool, table tennis, racquet sports courts, and my kids make me drive from Tempe just to do the wall climbing. Add in a frizbee golf course and tennis outside, this location is well worth a visit!
Nice hot, long showers. Clean. They have a gym, climbing wall and disc golf course. Also a sauna..
Parking to facilitate our 40' skoolie.
Friendly staff ..
It's a really nice rec center, has a lot of amenities, amd its employees were really nice. Only problem is, I wouldn't go there and expect to use their basketball courts. They require reservations, and half of them are used for pickleball. I don't know why it rubbed me the wrong way, maybe because every rec I've gone to was primarily for basketball. But 40-70 year Olds should be playing pickleball outside, in the morning/evening, not hogging the courts all day. Just my .02.
Bought a day pass to use the steam room and sauna. After visiting, I'm looking into getting a yearly pass.
Better price and more to do than a normal "gym". The dance classes look SO FUN.
I can't wrap my head as to why I haven't gone sooner!!
Overall It's not bad but it's alright, I've been a member here for about 7 or 8 months and I only go to the gym here. The staff is pretty cool, but they really need to stick to there rules. They allow toddlers and kids less than 12 years old to be up in the gym by thereselves. It gets really annoying and I know it annoys alot of people because I see them look at these kids who are acting like Fools just slamming weights and yelling. And I know there kids and all but if your older than 10 years old you can obviously read the big label plaque they have up before you walk in. Oh also there's elders there who give you nasty looks alot. Like usually in the morning around 7-9 am that's when they're will be like 10-15 old people in the gym just everywhere looking at you, btw women I feel bad for you. There are so many creeps around this gym it disgusts me honestly. I see really old guys like from 30-70 year olds just sit right behind them and watch young women workout and they stare for like a minute straight it's so weird.
Been coming here since 2006 and have loved it. However, they sold me a family membership saying they’d have a room for kids. They do not, and my child (who is a competitive swimmer and needs to train) isn’t welcome to workout. She’s allowed to sit downstairs on the couches. Why have a membership if there is literally nothing for her to do. Meanwhile, the younger kids from their kids’ camp run wild throughout the place. This is contributing to the obesity epidemic in this country!
I have gone to the primetime fitness class of and on for more than a year and while I am 67. It is vigorous, but very age-appropriate not only that Sherry and Susan are excellent instructors, very inclusive, and also humorous as hell!😄 …
